Group exhibition at KOOLA window 12.5.2026 – 31.5.2026:
LIGHT
Light may be approached as matter or metaphor, experience or absence—through illumination, shadow, reflection, time, perception, or energy. We welcome works across all media that engage with light from conceptual, emotional, philosophical, spiritual, social, ecological, technological, scientific, political, psychological, or sensory perspectives. Diverse interpretations and experimental approaches are encouraged. Diverse interpretations are encouraged and artists are encouraged to interpret the theme freely.
We accept both wall-mounted works and pieces designed for surface/pedestal display. This exhibition is open to artists of all backgrounds. Artists are welcome to apply with works that are either completed or still in progress. If submitting an unfinished piece, please outline your idea in terms of size, style, color, and concept, and note that the size of the finished work can not be bigger than announced in the application.
Exhibition Details
Dates: 12.5.2026 – 31.5.2026
Location: KOOLA Art Space Window Gallery. Exhibition is visible 24/7 at Pengerkatu 9, Kallio, Helsinki
Artwork delivery to the gallery: 10.5.2026 6pm-7pm and 11.5.2026 2pm-5pm (delivery by mail is possible)
Artwork pick up from the gallery: 31.5.2026 6pm-7.30pm and 1.6.2026 3pm-5pm
Submission Period: 15.2.2026 – 15.3.2026. Please note that we may make decisions earlier, so we encourage you to submit your proposals promptly. All applicants will be informed of the decisions no later than 30.3.2026.
Submission & Exhibition Fees
You can submit 1-3 artworks for consideration. Submission is free.
If your work is selected for the exhibition, fees are based on artwork size:
Small works (up to 30cm x 30cm): 40e per work
Medium works (up to 40cm x 40cm): 50e per work
Large works (larger than 40cm x 40 cm up to maximum of 80cm x 80cm): €90 per work
The exhibition fee includes:
Exhibition at KOOLA window: Your artwork will be displayed in the window gallery. Gallery curates the exhibition layout and handles hanging.
Artist Introduction: Feature on our website and social media platforms, including your contact details, social media handles, and details about your work and availability for purchase. KOOLA Art Space takes no commission on sales – artists manage their own transactions.
Professional Promotion: Exhibition marketing across social media and popular event platforms to maximize visibility and reach.
Extended Visibility: Possibility to showcase your work in the KOOLA catalogue after the exhibition.
