About KOOLA

KOOLA is a non-profit, artist-run gallery, operated entirely by volunteers. Our goal is to offer artists an affordable, well-managed space to present their work.

What we offer

  • A non-profit exhibition space in Kallio, Helsinki

  • Gallery supervision, cleaning, and promotion included in the exhibition period – you don't need to staff the gallery yourself

  • A clear schedule and communication throughout the exhibition process

  • No commission on sales – all proceeds go to the artist

Practical notes

  • An exhibition period at KOOLA covers the time your exhibition is prepared and on display within the gallery's opening hours. Depending on scheduling, the gallery is open 4–5 days a week. KOOLA is not a private, turnkey rental space, so the space cannot be used for other personal purposes during your exhibition period.

  • KOOLA does not have a separate storage room or kitchen.

  • You cannot fully supervise your exhibition yourself, but you are of course warmly welcome to be present during your exhibition's opening hours.

  • If you're looking for a space to host a late-running opening event, KOOLA may not be the right fit: due to housing association rules, all events must end by 7:00 PM.

Solo exhibition prices and space details

  • 2 weeks: €560 (payable in 1–3 installments)

  • 3 weeks: €820 (payable in 1–4 installments)

The exhibition space is located in Kallio, Helsinki, and is approximately 25 m². The exhibition fee covers the space's basic maintenance costs. KOOLA's volunteer team, who work unpaid, take care of supervision, promotion, and cleaning.
